The authors are not only

pediatric imagers but include a host of referring physicians,

such as cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons,

general pediatric surgeons, neonatologists, neurosurgeons,

oncologists, orthopedists, perinatologists, pathologists,

plastic surgeons, and radiation oncologists. I hope this

edition will stimulate more discussion with our referring

physicians, leading to mutual gain and, more important,

improvement in the care of our patients. With advances

in interventional radiology, we anticipate narrowing the

gap between surgeons and radiologists—two dynamic

disciplines that should and can work together.
